The story

At 14, Jannek, one of the co-founders of Vocabuddy, was a newspaper delivery boy. This job, demanding physically but not mentally, left him feeling his mind was idle, especially with the academic and social pressures he faced.

During these delivery rounds, Jannek thought of using the time more effectively. He devised a brilliant, simple solution: self-made audio study aids. Recording vocabulary, questions, and answers on his phone, he turned delivery hours into productive study sessions, becoming his own interactive study partner.

This innovative learning method stayed with him until 2023 when, during a conversation with Simon about past ideas, Jannek shared his concept. Simon's encouragement led them to ask, "Why not pursue it?" This was the inception of Vocabuddy.
